Help Getting Someone Released from Custody in California

After an arrest, a person is usually booked into a county jail. This is different from state prison. County jail is where many people are held after arrest, before trial, while waiting for court, or while serving certain shorter sentences. State prison usually applies after a felony conviction and sentencing.
